Top Ten Thursday: New Year's Resolutions Update

sleep with the stars instead of working on resolutions
This week's Top Ten Thursday is to check in on our New Year's Resolutions so here they are:

Things I will not do if I am so incline:

01/ I will not be rude to people even if they are rude to me - somewhat succeeded

02/ I will not try to please other people unnecessarily - let's just pretend I succeeded even though I can't seem to not fail at this

03/ I will not seek happiness in buying books - totally failed but I've got books!

04/ I will not do anything that will make my life difficult - failed but it will mostly be a fail no matter what I do anyway

05/ I will not pick fights with stupid people - failed but I don't care

Things I will do if I feel like it:

06/ I will write/finish those novels even it they will take a couple of years... - still working on this which means in a couple more years, I'll still be saying the same thing

07/ I will continue to draw, write and blog even if no one sees any of it and not necessary do them in order - succeeded

08/ I will read books, watch tv shows and movies and pretty much be as lazy as possible - succeeded

09/ I will accept failure - failed, acceptance is overrated

10/ I will say 'no' if I want to  - failed but that's because there are some things I just can't say no to

How about you? How did you do on your New Year's resolution?

April A-Z Challenge 2017

'angel taking a stroll on rooftops' - an old piece which have nothing to do with the A-Z Challenge
I've decided to do the April A-Z challenge again this April. It was sort of a last minute decision - the kind of decision I'll probably regret when it is the middle of the night and I realize I got nothing to post and starts panicking but let's not worry about that now. The challenge is to post every day except Sundays using the alphabet as a sort of a guide. I have no themes or any idea of what I'm going to post — just the usual random stuff and it's probably going to be even more random than usual.

For more about the April A-Z Challenge, go here. Anyone else doing the April A-Z Challenge?

Starting Fresh

I dreamed a thousand new paths. . . I woke and walked my old one. -Chinese proverb
Starting fresh is my only way to start anything. Or maybe it's an excuse not to do anything. So I have removed old posts from this blog leaving only the recent ones.

I have to admit I'm in a blogging slump. I still post. Well, once a week, which compare to my previous activities is perhaps just a little less which also means not much at all.

This post would have been longer except I keep deleting text every time I reread what I wrote so I'll just leave this post short.

What do you do to start fresh on your blog?

Scribble Picnic: Cabin

This week's Scribble Picnic's theme is Cabin. As you can see this piece is from last week but completed or as complete as I think it is.

The cabin is, like Michael suggested last week, is the tree studio for the little octopus. But I also added a cabin somewhere just for the fun of it. This is a fictional creation with some touches of reality: french fries and onion rings, books, candies, a stuff bunny, shoes, leaves in a box, folded stars, saved rose petals, paint brushes, paint in tubes, canvases, an octopus artist who doesn't need water to stay on land, purple hair...
