Don't buy me these things

~ the gift of reading ~
I don't know who this list is for since I don't really get presents during the holidays as I don't celebrate Christmas but I like the idea of giving/receiving gifts. Also, I think people should let others know what they don't like especially since money is going to be spent.

Definitely... NO :

01/ coffee related things – I really don't like the scent of coffee. I never got used to the smell or the taste so no coffee for me

02/ wine/alcohol  – I never drank in my life unless you count cooking alcohol & I never have any interest in drinking either

03/ anything that requires me to sign up for membership – I am sick of having to sign up for everything but that doesn't mean I wouldn't if something is really good such as a free lifetime supplies of new books, I wouldn't refuse that...

04/ lavender or anything that smells like lavender – I once received a sack bag that you place under your pillow that is suppose to be soothing and it made me nauseous and I had to throw it away. Actually, I'm not sure if it was lavender but it was purple and looked like lavender. I guess anything with a strong scent or odor would put me off.

05/ anything that has a kind of personalized engraving of sorts – I do not like having things with my name on them

.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

Most Likely... YES :

06/ paper goods – blank notebooks, sketch/drawing books, stationarys, bookmarks, postcards...

07/ art & craft kits – any diy (do it yourself) such as this snowman diy kit or this autumn leaves embroidery kit or this dreamcatcher kit

08/ gift certificates – to book stores, clothes stores, digital movies & music such as Apple, or for something useful like a desk clock or perhaps something cute like a desk clock shaped like a bunny? the possibilities are endless.

09/ patience – okay, so patience is not something you can buy but it is something you can give, right?

10/ books, books, books – fiction yes. horror, zombies, vampires - no, no, no!

What's on your yes and no list?

  1. Never really thought about a yes and no list....most everyone that buys for me knows me well enough to know what I will like so I just let them have at it.

I like most of what is on your no list ;-)
I like that we have been blog friends for a very long time and yet we are different. But of course we have things in common too.

  4. I like that pic, and didn't know you didn't celebrate Christmas. I think I agree with you that there needs to be a list somewhere that everyone knows about so people don't give things that the receiver can't really use. I also think it's so cool to know more about you and the things you really enjoy, and the things you think are the pits. (lol) Now that I've been working on my Planner, I definitely need arts and craft and paper items too. Hugs...RO

  5. For no, a big one is clothes. I just hate it when people give me clothes; chances are they don't fit and I have to return it. Also, I don't like it when people get me music without asking me what I like. Once I got a one direction CD. *shudder*. (I like hard rock, like Shinedown, Halestorm, Skillet, Papa Roach, etc.) For yes, puzzles, books, art related things, science related things, and GIFT CARDS! Gift cards are amazing cause you can shop for yourself:)
