What 'personal blog' means to me (100th post & a giveaway)

100th posts art

This is the 100th post. Well, okay, it's not quite true as I switched url and I deleted a lot of posts and beside I seem have posted mostly memes/blog challenges but that doesn't matter. What matters is what my blog is now and that makes this the 100th post. I thought I celebrate this little accomplishment because it really does not come by often. Well, it does but not lately.

I don't think I ever address what my blog is about or what label it should be under. But it really doesn't matter because if you're interest in something, you don't go around seeking out what category they are in, do you?

B.L.O.G.G.I.N.G. > Busy Laughing & Ogling Gifs & Gorging on Inappropriate, Nutty Goods

This blog and all my previous blogs before this never had a niche or any specific theme. But I guess you could call my blog a 'personal blog' though I really don't know what that means when compare with other blogs.

A 'personal blog' to me means 'a blog about a person's opinions & thoughts & whatever interest them' and that's exactly what this blog is about. Maybe there are things here that sort of show off my personal side but not much. In a few words, my blog is about my art, my fiction writings, books I read and adore, whatever interest me or gets into my head & every now and then some giveaways. So it's really just another blog.

To celebrate reaching 100 posts, anyone who leaves a comment will be entered to win a book from The Book Depository or an art print of your choice from Etsy under the amount of 37 dollars. Or if you prefer, I will create an art piece using a name or a number like the '100' art above (or check the art from this post)  which pretty much means vines and flowers and maybe some other item of your choosing. (Update: contest has ended.)

What about you? Can you sum up your blog in a couple of words?

  1. I consider my blog a "personal" blog. To me that is what a blog is. All this other stuff (food, sports, writing, reviews, Crafts, etc.) may serve a purpose and be of interest, but to me they aren't blogs. I write about the things and people I know. I share my ideals, perspectives, thoughts, etc. on life, Caneyheadand my faith.

    1. I think also that most blogs are personal blogs because we all express our opinions in one way or another.

  3. Initially I called it a Lifestyle Blog because there are certain media and social media platforms that need to know, and they don't give many choices. I think I agree that it's really personal, but very few blogs have that title. I think they're all person, though, when you think about it. Hugs.. and congrats!

    1. 'personal blogs' can be define in any way to a blogger, I think, it's easy to categorize in the beginning when you first blog but a blog grows along with the blogger so it sometimes change but probably not by much.

thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day.

  4. My blog, Quartzfeather, is without a doubt a book blog, however, since it was first created two years ago I have discovered so many other things that I enjoy blogging about from time to time like animation, web design, and my personal life. So it's strictly a book blog, but it mostly is. Also kinda random but I really low your header! Did you draw it yourself?

    1. yes, I made the header and every piece of art & writing & the photographs on my blog.

I do like book blogs with other things other than book reviews, variety is good.

thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day.

  9. At one time my blog was definitely a beauty blog, then it was a book blog, now it's kind of a general lifestyle blog. I write about anything and everything that interests me and that varies so widely depending on the day--it might be cooking, or a movie I watched, or a new lipstick I tried, or just pictures of my cats! It's so hard to categorize but honestly I like it that way, because it's so freeing to just sit down and write about whatever I feel like that day. I think writing and blogging is another form of art and art is no good if you're feeling restricted in some way.

Congrats on your blogiversary! I have to agree that a big part of blogging is ogling GIFs. I can go down quite the rabbit hole when I'm writing a post and want a good GIF to go with it!

    1. I think not having a specific niche or theme or categorize ourselves into something, makes easier to blog. & you're right, writing and blogging is art & restrictions can make it harder.

I do like seeing those gifs people used but I never got into the habit of using them but I have fun seeing them.

thank you for stopping by, have a lovely day.
