'cloud planting' finished

'cloud planting'

Now that I looked at this piece again, it didn't look as crowded as I thought. I trend to fill up spaces for no reason. I sort of wanted a mountain view in the back but decided it might take away the floating feeling. Also, the trees at the bottom appear so much smaller than the girl which I didn't realize until now. Let's pretend all the trees around her are still growing and that's why she is almost the same size as them except for the smaller little trees. Are the colorful clouds a bit much?

This week's Scribble Picnic with the theme "Potted Plant." I know there are no pots in this piece but there are plants or plant-ish trees so I sort of fulfilled the theme, right?

  3. Lissa,
I saw the potted vine in the little basket that is hanging. That looked like a potted plant to me. I love your imagination. I love the soft colours. And your detail is amazing.
    Blessings,
    Janis

  5. I just love your nooks and grannies and little surprises tucked in here and there in your artwork. Just marvelous...I see a lot of patience in your work, and it's a lovely piece...up in the clouds and happy.

  8. that's exactly how I did picture it before reading your post, Lissa--that the trees are still growing!

Are those purples clouds around that one plant shoot under the umbrella like plant? Such an interesting part of the overall illustration. I would so love to see a video of you doing your digital work to such great affects.

Thank you! And thank you too for offering to host. Great idea that I am totally interested in if people prefer to continue for the weeks I am out? Can't quite tell from answers but guessing people would rather wait and take a break...I think. I have left comments on my blog there so you can read them at your leaisure if you like and I will certainty let you know if I need your help there. So awesome of you to offer, regardless. :)

    1. yep, that's a purple plant under that umbrella. and a blue sun behind the clouds, so lots of colors all around.

I'm happy to step in to host but it's up to you. but it looks like most wanted to postpone and I'm okay with that.

thanks for dropping by. have a lovely day.

  10. I have to say that I also think it's dreamy - the colors and the scene. I love looking around and finding little surprises like the bunny. I guess he would need wings to get up there in the first place. This is so soothing.

    1. actually, the colors had been a bit less soothing before this version. I like the bunny too and I think a gardener needs company so a bunny is just as good as any.

      have a lovely day.

  11. Hola! ;-)
I started out looking for a potted plant, and like Janis, assumed the hanging bag or basket was it!
I don't remember noticing the sun before–I like it!
