April A-Z : The Seven Moods of a Blogger

Mood : a state or quality of feeling at a particular time
— Dictionary.com

I'm sure there are a number of other moods but seven to me is a good number. These are for fun and are not for any particular usage. I've tried to write this post several times and failed so I started fresh which basically means I winged it and just put down what I thought.

01/ Happy — happy to start blogging or happy to have a cup of tea without worrying why you woke up this morning

'Anxious But Not Anxious'
02/ Anxious But Not Anxious — waiting for some type of respond but at the same time trying not to wait or at least pretend you aren't waiting

'On the Edge of Worry/Panic and Maybe Getting Ready to Resort to Hiding So No One Would Know You Were Ever On The Web'
03/ On the Edge of Worry/Panic and Maybe Getting Ready to Resort to Hiding So No One Would Know You Were Ever On The Web — worry that your blog doesn't get read, worry that no one out there likes you, worry that you should not be worrying because it's normal that people won't like you or what you post and then sort of wish you went snorkeling instead

04/ Ecstatic — happy to find someone noticed your blog but keeping calm because you don't want people to think you actually care

'Frustrated/Devastated/Horrified/Just Plain Mad'
05/ Frustrated / Devastated / Horrified / Just Plain Mad — by the awful responds, by the lack of support, basically getting spams that appear like real humans and the sudden realization you really shouldn't blog at all

06/ Determined — to blog no matter what even if no one reads your blog because you're blogging for you and not your readers or so you tell yourself so you wouldn't feel like a idiot for caring

'Extremely Happy'
07/ Extremely Happy —  someone left you a little note telling you they love what you wrote though you probably know it's a lie but it is a nice lie and you don't care if it's a lie because it is enough for you to want to keep on blogging or until you find another excuse not to blog

When I wrote this, I'm at #1 because that's like the beginning of every day. So what mood are you in after reading this?  #1 or #5 or #7?

  1. Hi, seven here! It's no lie when I tell you that I genuinely enjoyed this and recognised every step. So far today I've had my lowest A-Z comment count, but even if only half are truthful about my work I'll be on seven and a half by bedtime!

    Another day in Amble Bay

  2. A lie!? Don't tell me when I get those little comments saying someone likes my post, it's not true. That will bring on mood #8.

    Finding Eliza

    1. more of an exaggeration than a lie. some comments just sounds a little too kind, like it is just good true to be true...

      have a lovely day.

  3. I love all the different expressions of your girl! This fun post left me in a good mood!

  4. I for one are glad you write your blog instead of going snorkelling. I'm usually at a 3 and try to pretend that I don't care what people think but I really do. Well done for making it to the half way point Lissa, and enjoy the second half.

  5. Love your idea and especially the illustrations!
A mood I often experience as a blogger is "being all over the place". What I mean by it is having lots of ideas but lacking the discipline to map them out and structure them. Instead I just write and hope it'll take me "somewhere".

  6. I would like to pretend I do not care about the comments but don't we all like some recognition that we are noticed. Thank you for the humor you brought to this topic.

  7. Loved the moods! I've been blogging since 2005. I went through some similar moods in the beginning. I've gone though some when I first moved to blogger...forced move by AOL Journals...But by and large, especially as I get older I really do, do it because I enjoy it, I don't worry about the rest...if ot happens it is just icing on my blog cake.
